Sometimes things go horribly awry on rides. This carbon fiber Colnago C50 came to us with a broken seatstay and a ripped off dropout, so naturally we inquired what happened:
“I had to make a repair to the chain while out on a ride. This left the chain short a few links. I had the chain in the big front chain ring and shifted into 1st gear. Everything was fine until a pack of hungry wolves came along. They were all ready to attack but we talked for several hours and had several fine IPA’s. I was finally able to leave when they fell asleep. When I got back on the bike I forgot which gears I had the chain on and the drop out gave way. It was a 7 mile walk home”.
