One of the things we pride ourselves on here at Ruckus is our ability to return great bikes back to service and to give them a new life entirely. This Guro Photon repair started with a broken dropout, but our customer wanted to take advantage of our full custom capabilities. We chatted back and forth via a few email paint mocks and once we decided on a paint scheme we were ready to go with the dropout repair. We first started with the dropout repair by removing the old one and sanding down the damage so we could install our new CNC’d dropout. We then set out on the extensive repaint process for this Guru frame.
As you van see here, most of the time sent on this frame was in the paint prep process. Our painter Nick showed much patience and perseverance…you can’t imagine how difficult it was to accrately and delicately mask the checkerboard pattern.
As per our customer’s request, we also gave some slight ghosting around the “Guru” and “Photon” to really make the yellow pop.
This bike first came in for a repair, but it left a full custom bike that out customer had a say in. If you have a broken frame, now is the time to get it repaired. Whether a full custom or a factory paint match, we want to save every damaged carbon fiber bike we see. We’re proud of this one and we know our customer is going to love it.
