Through the years here at Ruckus we have experimented a lot with the idea of what we are. We wanted to be everything to everyone on a bike. We wanted to build bikes, to fix bikes, to make more carbon fiber fenders, to put fender eyelets on every fork to keep someone dry, to put rack and water bottle mounts on bikes. We have been slowly trimming the fat from our business and getting more and more lean. What does this mean? We are going to NOT be a lot of things, but what we are going to be is the best at what we do: repairing carbon fiber bicycles.

As more part/bike sales go to consumer direct models, we aim to continuously rethink the way professionals fulfill the Service role. We believe that a great “Service First” focused bike shop can be a successful business model and be a cornerstone for the community. One of the many ways that Ruckus IS RUCKUS is how we continuously adapt while learning over and over and over. We try everything. We love experimenting. We love making stuff. We love bikes and bike people. Ruckus is growing in a big way. We are changing the way the bike industry looks at service and repair. So we brought in two new employees who embody our ethos of challenge, change and repair to help us through our progression.

Marayah Deese

Marayah comes from Bike Gallery to join the Ruckus team. She’s a bike racer extraordinaire, competing both on the track and in the grass and mud for ‘cross. Her passions are growing women’s involvement in cycling and helping people thrive at what they love. A hard working people person at heart, she will be involved with everything from community outreach to painting. She’ll be our shop everything person and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board!

Daniel Steinle

Photographer, writer and general midwestern nice guy, Dan joins the Ruckus team as the marketing mad scientist. A relative newcomer to the Portland cycling community, Dan runs a website that documents the glory and absurdity of cyclocross. We appreciate his rare stylistic approach to documentation and look forward to him spreading the good word of Ruckus Composites far and wide.
