Plenty of dangers exist out on the road to wreak havoc on your ride: cars, aloof passerby, semis, even dive-bombing birds or chasing dogs can make your time on the bike go awry. However, sometimes immovable objects cause the most harm. In this repair case our customer hit a yellow bollard, a dreaded piece of road furniture angled ever so slightly as to collide with his toptube, throwing him from thee bike. Luckily, he was mostly unscathed but his BMC GF01 carbon fiber frame was badly mangled. We had to remove lots of material from the toptube in order to remake this frame, but we’re incredibly pleased with the end result. It was also quite enjoyable paint-matching the muted yellow color!
